Diabetes - Pancreatitis in Diabetes Type 1

It is a disease that can be found in patients with diabetes mellitus type 1. It is formerly known as insulin-dependent diabetes or juvenile diabetes. Pancreatitis can directly cause the onset of type 1 diabetes especially if the disorder has been chronically present in the patient. Since type 1 diabetes is common in children, how can pancreatitis be its cause when we know that pancreatitis is caused by alcoholism?
